In 2020, Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, achieved continuous innovation and breakthroughs in the advanced manufacturing industry, effectively guaranteeing the operation of the industrial economy and promoting high-quality economic development.

Headquartered in Xi'an, Shaanxi Automobile Holding Group Co is an influential manufacturing company in Northwest China. In recent years, the company's products have been sold to more than 90 countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, and more than 18,000 vehicles have been provided for related projects.

Last year, Shaanxi Automobile Holding Group Co strengthened cooperation with Chinese-funded enterprises, enticed seven major Chinese-funded customers and successfully won bids for 39 projects.

Last year, the city of Xi'an listed additive manufacturing as one of the important industries in the modern industrial system.

"The company has fully enjoyed the incentives of advanced manufacturing and other policies and continuously expanded new models of additive manufacturing, new formats, new technologies and new products," said Xue Lei, chairman and general manager of Xi'an Bright Laser Technologies Co.

Xi'an also created the "Mayor Special Award" for innovation last year to pay tribute to outstanding entrepreneurs.

Feng Yong, general manager of Western Superconducting Materials Technologies Co won the Mayor Special Award in August of last year. He said that the award is recognition of the company's achievements and has greatly inspired their innovation and entrepreneurial team.

In addition, Xi'an attaches great importance to the cultivation of entrepreneurs. It organizes leading talents in advanced manufacturing to study in the sector every year.

"In November of last year, I went to Shenzhen with 49 entrepreneurs to learn the equity incentive course our company currently needs most. I saw the most advanced digital and intelligent factory in China and held discussions with entrepreneurs in Shenzhen," said Sun Jianxi, chairman of Dagang Holding Co.

In 2021, Xi'an actively carried out investment promotion of the industrial chain, focusing on the construction of industrial clusters and the supporting needs of key leading enterprises. As a result, a number of key projects were introduced and put into operation.

At present, advanced manufacturing has played a pivotal role in the economic development of Xi'an.

In January and February of this year, the city's advanced manufacturing industry completed an output value of 70.65 billion yuan ($10.78 billion), an increase of 46.5 percent year-on-year.

This year, Xi'an will build an advanced manufacturing industry system with industrial internet as the platform and talent training as the support. The goal is to promote industrial expansion and create Xi'an's industrial brand.
