The 9th Silk Road International Film Festival will be held in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province from Dec 30, 2022 to Jan 2, 2023. 

The event will be hosted by China Media Group, the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government and the Fujian Provincial People's Government.

This year's festival will have seven main sections, including the Golden Silk Road Award Competition, an opening ceremony and red-carpet ceremony, a film night, a film screening, film forums, an award ceremony and other activities, to promote cultural exchanges on the Silk Road.

The Golden Silk Road Award Competition received 1,598 films from 90 countries and regions. After selection rounds, 19 outstanding films have been selected.

On Jan 2, 10 professional awards will be announced. This year's film festival invited seven well-known filmmakers from home and abroad to form an international jury. The chairman of the jury is the famous Chinese director Diao Yinan.
