The Golden Silk Road Award is an international film event established to implement the theme of the Silk Road International Film Festival – using films as the link, inheriting the spirit of the Silk Road and promoting the culture of the Silk Road.

The 9th Silk Road International Film Festival will be held in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Nov 26-29.

Some 19 top films have been shortlisted for the Golden Silk Road Award from 1,598 films from 90 countries and regions.

The shortlisted films include not only Chinese films The Battle at Lake Changjin II, Nice View and Burning Ice, but also many other foreign films such as The Absent Director from Iran, Children of Nobody from Israel and The Justice of Bunny King from New Zealand.
