The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) members, currently participating in the second session of the 15th CPPCC Xi'an Committee, held a group discussion on Feb 14 to discuss the CPPCC work report and the proposal work report.

The session opened on Feb 14 in Xi'an – capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province – and runs to Feb 16.

"Over the past year, the CPPCC Xi'an Committee has submitted nine proposals and 16 research reports to the Xi'an CPC Committee and the Xi'an Municipal Government – and put forward more than 240 opinions and suggestions, which were seriously received," said CPPCC Xi'an Committee member Wang Gang.

"As a CPPCC committee member, I deeply feel that our mission is glorious and our responsibility is great," Wang added.

The discussion in each group was lively. The CPPCC members focused on the core work of the city, the expectations of the public and the functions of the CPPCC Xi'an Committee.

They stated that they should start with the issues the people care about, improve the quality of proposals and provide the government with a decision-making reference for promoting reforms and improving work.
