More than 500 members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Xi'an Committee arrived at the Shaanxi Hotel on Feb 13 to attend the second plenary session of the 15th CPPCC Xi'an Committee.

It's being held in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Feb 14.

The CPPCC members made careful preparations, went to communities, villages, enterprises and schools, listened to the opinions and suggestions of the public, wrote high-quality proposals and are expected to perform their duties with a high sense of responsibility and a strong sense of mission.

Li Dan, a CPPCC member, said in an interview that she was most concerned about intellectual property protection and technological innovation.

The proposal Li prepared is about strengthening intellectual property , or IP, protection and building a city strong in science and technology.

Li suggested establishing an intellectual property protection liaison system for key enterprises and taking the initiative to provide services, formulating a prevention and supervision system to prevent small merchants from infringing IP rights, and providing order-based services for enterprises with production capacity and awareness of independent innovation.

Another CPPCC member, Lei Yushan, was concerned about the kiwi fruit industry in the city and has prepared a detailed proposal on the matter.
