Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, put great efforts into promoting the high-quality development of its transportation system in 2022.
Throughout the year, Xi'an's key transportation projects completed investment of 16.71 billion yuan ($2.46 billion), exceeding the annual target by 18 percent.
Some 81 ordinary trunk roads damaged by water and 245 road reconstruction projects were completed, and all rural roads damaged by various accidents and incidents in the city were repaired.
Over the year, the city's four highways successfully passed the primary election of the province's "Top 10 Most Beautiful Rural Roads".
Xi'an newly opened and modified 62 bus lines last year, launched 12 community buses and coordinated connections between buses and metros in 157 communities.
Also, Xi'an was selected as a city that has met the national green travel assessment and evaluation standards.
This year, Xi'an will continue to build a modern comprehensive transportation network, with investment in key transportation projects expected to exceed 20 billion yuan.
