The fourth session of the 14th Xi'an Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the fifth session of the 16th Xi'an Municipal People's Congress opened in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province on May 16 and 17 respectively.

Members and deputies at the two sessions discussed achievements of the city last year and put forward their proposals and suggestions for 2020.
