Dear distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,

Good evening! 

My name is Shan Liu.

On behalf of the School of Management Xi'an Jiaotong University, I would like to welcome you to the Gala Dinner of the PACIS 2019!

First, I would like to extend our gratitude to AIS for its trust in authorizing XJTU to organize the PACIS 2019. I would also like to appreciate IBM for co-sponsoring and supporting the conference. I also appreciate XXX company for supporting the conference and gala dinner.

Second, I will read the congratulatory speech for PACIS 2019 from our founding Dean, the Senior Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Wang Yingluo. Professor Wang is one of the founders of management discipline in China. He is a pioneer in the integration of system engineering and management. Just as he said, :””

Third, I would like to briefly introduce Xi’an Jiaotong University and its School of Management.

A national key university directly administrated by the Chinese Ministry of Education, Xi’an Jiaotong University is one of the oldest modern institutions of higher education in China,

Originally established in 1928, and restored and reconstructed in 1984, the School of Management of Xi’an Jiaotong University is one of the earliest such schools in China. It was among the first in China to offer professional degree programs such as MBA and EMBA. It now has two state first-level key disciplines -- Management Science and Engineering and Business Administration, and a doctoral program and postdoctoral research station in each. Since 2002, the two disciplines have ranked among the top places in the discipline appraisal by the Ministry of Education three consecutive times. In 2011, the school was accredited by AACSB and maintained AACSB Business Accreditation in 2016. SOM was the first business school in mainland China to be awarded a five-star rating in QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) Stars for Global Business Schools in 2016. In 2017, Management Science and Engineering and Business Administration were both selected as national-level "Double First-Class" Disciplines.

Again, we appreciate very much the opportunity to have our school organize PACIS. I wish great success for the conference.
