The stadium at the Xi'an Olympic Sports Center was ranked 10th among the world's best stadiums in 2021 by StadiumDB.com, one of the world's leading websites dedicated to football stadiums.
The facility is located in the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics (ITL) Park in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province. It will serve as the main venue for China's upcoming 14th National Games.
The center's new stadium is not only regarded as a world-class stadium, but it is also a new landmark for Xi'an.
Construction officially started on Oct 9, 2017 and the center covers an area of 152,000 square meters. The structure was completed and it passed its acceptance check on June 23, 2020.
With 60,000 seats, the stadium is equipped with an international-standard, 400-meter integrated track and field area, with nine circular runways and an international-standard football field.
It is the first venue in Northwest China to be certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations, as a first-level venue. It is also the first smart stadium in China, to reportedly achieve full 5G network coverage
