Ancient city celebrates China's Cultural and Natural Heritage Day     Updated: 2020-06-15

Events marking China's annual Cultural and Natural Heritage Day were hosted at Daming Palace National Heritage Park in Xi'an, capital city of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on June 13.

Hosted by Xi’an municipal administration of culture and tourism, the main message of this year's Cultural and Natural Heritage Day was "let cultural heritage bring color to an all-round well-off society."

Citizens and children together experienced intangible cultural heritage skills such as rubbing printing, sugar painting, and movable type printing.

Xi'an is one of the first batch of national historical and cultural cities and one of the world’s four ancient capitals.

At present, the city has 192 intangible cultural heritage items at the municipal level, including 101 at the provincial level, 10 at the national level, and one which was included on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
