The city of Xi'an, capital of China's Northwestern Shaanxi province kicked off a high-level recruitment drive for 2020 on March 14, focusing on top people from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
In contrast to previous drives, this year -- based on a professional online recruitment platform -- the employers are communicating with job candidates outside the city using network communications and video interviews.
Officials said there are 93 enterprises participating in the activity and plans are for them to hire 2,223 top quality employees, including 1,051 positions open for doctors.

The job posts are in more than 10 industry fields, including construction engineering, electronics information, tourism and the chemicals industry -- covering more than 100 professional categories such as aviation, automatic control, economics and finance and the law.
Officials said that in order to ensure the effectiveness of the recruitment drive, the Xi'an human resources and social security bureau has hooked up in advance with domestic college employment service agencies such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China and Fudan University.
In late March, the bureau will also hold a matchmaking meeting for key Xi'an projects and industries, to recruit high-level talents for major projects, important industries and key units in Xi'an during the novel coronarivus epidemic.
