Halifax-Xi’an Cargo Flight Opened Marks 17th Such Route of Shaanxi

At 3 on December 21, with the arrival of cargo plane Y87416 at the Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, the air route between Halifax, Canada and Xi’an was open officially, which is the 17th cargo flights that is opened in Shaanxi Province. As a result, the number of the cargo air routes between Xi’an and North America reaches 2.

Of the 71.4 tons of cargo carried in the maiden flight, 56 tons were the lobsters of Boston that were collected and purchased in the place of origin. The West Air Group Logistics that was in charge of the first flight cargo, has drawn on the working experience of aquatic food products exported earlier and completed the inspection and quarantine, customs clearance at 5 on the same day, so that fast customs clearance was achieved for the cargo.

This year, the port operation of Xi’an Xianyang International Airport has been regularized and streamlined, with customs clearance time shortened by one third and the capacity for securing international special goods increased. A large quantity of fresh goods such as pineapples and durians of Thailand, salmons and brown crabs of Europe have been imported through the airport, meeting the needs of local people in consumption upgrade.
