China Eastern Airlines to Open Xi’an - St. Petersburg Flight in 2018

On March 21, the “2018 Summer and Autumn Aviation Season Product Promotion Conference” of the Northwest Branch of China Eastern Airlines was held in Xi’an, which announced that the airlines will open the international flight between Xi’an and St. Petersburg of Russia in 2018.

As of March 25, the Civil Aviation Administration of China will enforce the flight schedule of summer and autumn, which will see the Northwest Branch of China Eastern Airlines put into service 57 airplanes including 3 airliners of A330, 11 airliners of A325, 30 airliners of A320, and 13 airliners of A319. 1 more airliner of A332 will be added in June, and 1 more of A320 in August, totaling the transport capacity up to 59 airplanes. The daily scheduled flights of China Eastern Airlines at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport are up to 287 flights/times, with some 40,000 passenger seats provided, covering 75 destinations starting from Xi’an, with 11 international and 64 domestic.

In the aviation season of summer and autumn this year, three domestic round trip flights will be put in service by China Eastern Airlines as of March 25, namely, Xi’an to Dali, Xi’an to Shaoyang, and Xi’an to Nanning. Meanwhile, the Northwest Branch of China Eastern Airlines will intensify its flight network in West China, with the flight product “Journey to the West” covering Lhasa, Golmud, Jiayuguan, Dunhuang, Jinchang, Zhangye, Xining, Yinchuan, Lanzhou, etc.
