Holi of India Observed in Xi'an attended by Hundreds of Foreigners

At noon of yesterday, 2018 Holi was held in the Silk Road street of Tang West Market, visitors from India, the US and Australia and Xi’an residents experienced an exciting festival in touch with the traditional custom of India for the first time in Xi’an, the starting point of the Silk Road.

Also named otherwise such as Red Sprinkling Festival, Pleasure Festival, Colorful Festival, Holi Festival, Holi is a traditional festival of Hindu people in India, serving as the Indian New Year, falling on the day of full moon in the twelfth month on Indian calendar. On the day of celebration, more than 100 foreign visitors and several hundreds of Chinese visitors all gathered in the India square of the Silk Road street and smeared each other with colorful powders playfully, making the site a sea of pleasure. According to Indian friends, such action implies the mutual good wishes to participants.

Such infectious exotic folk custom activity has promoted the friendship of Chinese and Indian peoples and the connection of Tang West Market to the world.
