Australian Tourists were welcomed at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport.

More than 150 Australian tourists on Hainan Airlines flight HU7994 arrived at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport at 18:40, Sept. 13th. Xi’an welcomed the first batch of Australian tourists visiting Shaanxi by performing Ansai waist drum and yangko which greatly fascinated the tourists.
The year of 2017 is the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia and also the first China-Australia Tourism Year. With the successful implementation of the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement, there is a good momentum in economy, tourism, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. At the end of 2016, Australia provided ten-year multiple-entry visas to Chinese citizens, which meant that a deeper cooperation in terms of tourism exchanges was reached.
The activity of “Australian Tourists Visiting Shaanxi”, hosted by China National Tourism Administration and organized by Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Development Committee, is a part of the events for 2017 China-Australia Tourism Year to promote the touristic exchange and development, and also an important way in implementing the B & R Initiative.
A grand welcoming ceremony of the Tang Dynasty style was held at the South Gate Square on the evening of Sept 14th to welcome the tourists and offer them an opportunity to further experience traditional Chinese culture.
