 Mayor Shangguan Jiqing meets with Austria Bad Ischl City Mayor Hannes Heide and his delegation at the Municipal Government on the afternoon of January 16, 2017.

 Shangguan Jiqing first of all extended his welcome to the delegation for their visit. He said that Bad Ischl is the historical famous city of Austria and  famous cultural and tourism destination of the country. As the starting point city of the Silk Road Economic Belt, Xi’an boasts a long history and splendid culture, and is a tourism famous city sharing a lot in common in many areas with Bad Ischl, and there are solid foundations and good conditions for exchange and cooperation between the two cities. At present, Xian is seizing the strategic opportunities of the Belt and Road and the FTA, making great efforts to build a Quality Xi’an featured by carrying on the fine traditions and initiating new ones, and by its openness and inclusiveness, its high-end and with good quality pursuit, as well as its feature as a harmonious and livable city. He hoped that the two cities to further mutual friendly cooperation for more achievements.

 Mayor Heide expressed his appreciation to the the warm reception. He said that Bart Eisner was the birthplace of the Austro-Hungarian Emperor Franz Joseph, and  was the place where he was engaged to Sophie, many famous historical events also took place here. Bart Eisner  is a famous spa city, rich in cultural activities and artistic atmosphere. On this visit, he hoped to carry out pragmatic cooperation with Xi’an  in tourism, culture and other fields.

 Also present at the meeting were Wang De’an, Secretary-General of the Municipal Government, Zhang Yongke, Director of the Municipal Bureau of Tourism, Ma Jinshan, Deputy Director of the Municipal Bureau of Culture, radio and television, news and publications, and Wang Xiaozhen, Deputy Director of the Municipal FAO (OCAO).
