Mayor Shangguan Jiqing meets the Czech Ambassador to China Bedřich Kopecký and his Delegation

On the afternoon of December 14, Mayor Shangguan Jiqing meets in the city hall the Czech Ambassador to China Bedřich Kopecký and his Delegation.

After extending his welcome to the delegation, Mayor Shangguan said that, Xi’an is an ancient capital of human civilization with thousands of years of history, and it boasts abundant science and education resources, outstanding location and a wide range of industrial systems. Xi’an is currently responsible for multiple national missions, including building the city into an international metropolis, making  it the gateway city for China's opening up to the outside world, carrying out comprehensive pilot reform for innovation,  and the construction of free trade zone, which brought about multiple preferential policies and a great potential for development. He expected more Czech entrepreneurs to invest in Xi ' an, carry out practical cooperation in the areas of culture, tourism, aviation and other areas so as to promote mutual benefit, win-win and cooperative development.

Ambassador Bedřich expressed his appreciation for the introduction made by Mayor Shangguan. He stressed that, Xi’an is not only a world famous historical and cultural city, it is also an important city along the Belt and Road. The Czech Republic would participate in the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt, and actively build a communication platform to expand mutual exchange cooperation in areas of aviation, tourism, cultural exchange and others. At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Bedřich expressed his appreciation for the warm reception of Xi’an City.

 Also present at the meeting were Wang De’an, Secretary-General of the Municipal Government, Director-General Zhang Yongke of the Municipal Tourism Bureau, Sun Qifeng, Secretary of CPC Working Committee of Xi’an Yanliang Aviation Base, and Qiangsheng, Deputy Director-General of the Municipal FAO (OCAO).
