Annes Qadir from Pakistan has been living in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, for nine years. He graduated from Shaanxi University of Science & Technology with a master's degree and from Northwestern Polytechnical University with a bachelor's degree.

Currently, Qadir works as a model and actor. He is married to a doctor in Xi'an.

When Qadir came to Xi'an to study, his initial driving force was to realize his childhood dream of becoming a pilot.

Although sadly that dream failed to materialize, Qadir said he has no regrets. After moving to Xi'an, he found himself enchanted by the rich history and culture and vigorous vitality of this ancient city, and he made many new friends from different countries.

In Xi'an, Qadir has realized his second dream of becoming an actor. His hard work and diligence have since paid off, bringing him many golden opportunities – from 2019 to the present time, Qadir has participated in more than 10 movies and TV series in China.

Qadir also registered and established its own company in Xi'an – Shaanxi Batie Cultural Exchange Media Co, which is mainly engaged in film distribution and film planning.

Now he has a new dream – to shoot a movie reflecting the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, to let more people know about China and its myriad charms.

Qadir has been to many places in the country, and learned a lot about China’s customs, history and culture. He has also witnessed the development of China and Xi'an.

He said Xi'an is a place suitable for expats to start a business. "Here I have a happy home, and Xi'an gives me a strong sense of belonging."
