B & R Italy expo promoted in Xi'an

The Italian Belt and Road Initiative Expo Xi'an Promotion Conference was held in the Xi'an Innovation and Design Center on March 11, 2019. The conference invited Xi'an’s government departments, pioneer enterprises and professional elites to advance Sino-Italian economic and trade cooperation and cultural communication.

The Italian Embassy in China extended an invitation to the Foreign Affairs Office of the Xi'an municipal people's government and the Xi'an Expo Affairs Center, to jointly hosted the promotion conference. And the conference was undertaken by the government of Beilin district and co-organized by the Xi'an Municipal Art Exchange Center.

At the conference, the Minister Counselor of the Italian Embassy in China, Emanuele de Maigret, expressed hope in a recorded speech that a vast number of excellent Xi'an enterprises will start cooperation and business exchanges with their Italian counterparts.

The chairman of the Italian Belt and Road Initiative study institution, Michele de Caspolis,made a speech saying that the Silk Road is a very romantic term to Westerners, but it would better be understood as another path for globalization in today’s world. Xi'an is a city not only with an ancient history, but also advanced technologies, and he hoped that through the expo mutual communications, open cooperation and innovative development could be nurtured, enabling Xi'an and Italy to have further exchanges and cooperation in the aspects of culture, tourism, and economic activity.

He also mentioned that Xi'an is the eighth stop in China of the Belt and Road Initiative Expo, and has proved the most attractive, efficient and impressive event of them all.

The Italian government will hold the 2019 Italian Belt and Road Initiative Expo, also known as the 2019 International Production Capacity Cooperation Expo, in Rome, the center of the Mediterranean Sea, from May 15 to 18. At that time, high-level deputies from China, the European Commission and United Nations agencies, as well as enterprise representatives, professional elites and experts in all areas will discuss and work together on the major issue of international cooperation -- innovation and creation of employment to promote sustainable development.
