A major national science and technology project - the first domestic 1200-metric ton large-scale aircraft skin stretcher - recently settled in Xi'an Yanliang National Aviation High-tech Industrial Base.
The project is being undertaken by Xi'an Xinghang Aviation Aeromodelling Technology Co at the aviation base.
Aircraft skin refers to a dimensional member surrounding an aircraft skeleton structure and fixed to the skeleton with an adhesive or rivets to form the aerodynamic shape of the aircraft.
The aircraft skin stretcher is mainly composed of a main body, electronic control system and hydraulic system.
It is used for longitudinal stretch-forming of aluminum alloy, stainless steel and titanium alloy skin parts on large aircraft fuselage.
The project's integrated technology, of intelligent numerical control systems, servo energy-saving systems and safety protection systems, has reached an international advanced level.
After its completion, it will greatly improve the technical level and production efficiency of large aircraft skin manufacturing, and contribute to the construction of a national, advanced aviation manufacturing industry cluster.
"In the future, the company will focus on R&D and manufacturing of large-sized key components for aircraft and improve product quality to achieve intelligent and large-scale production," said Cao Pengfei, secretary of the board of directors of Xi'an Xinghang Aviation Aeromodelling Technology Co.
