At the 2026 World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum in Xi'an, Hu Jianping, vice-president of the Chinese Health Information and Big Data Association, shared a forward-looking vision for digital health development.

Hu said that the goal of digital advancement is not to create a machine that is more intelligent than humans, but to build an entirely new type of human-machine relationship.

He also reviewed the progress made in recent decades, noting that China's hospitals have achieved significant results in information-driven development. These developments have markedly improved the quality and efficiency of overall medical services as well as the public's sense of gain, he noted.
