4 Xi'an archaeological projects win provincial recognition

The Shaanxi Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics released 11 important archaeological discoveries in Northwest China's Shaanxi province in 2022 at a news conference on Jan 12.

Four of the projects were in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi.

They included Taiping Site, the third excavation of the No 1 Terracotta Warriors of the Mausoleum of Qinshihuang (the first emperor of a unified China), the site of the five bridges on Zhuque Street in Chang'an City in the Sui (581-618) and Tang (618-907) dynasties, and the tomb of Yan Gongkuang of the Tang Dynasty.
