With the weather getting colder, wintersweet flowers in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, have come into full bloom, emitting their delicate fragrance and infusing the frigid air with life.

Daxingshan Temple
With a history of more than 1,400 years, Daxingshan Temple served as a royal temple of the Sui (581-618) and Tang (618-907) dynasties. It is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Xi'an and an ancient temple with Chinese and foreign influences.
Nowadays, the wintersweets planted in the temple's backyard are in full bloom, contrasting with the traditional ancient buildings and creating a wonderful winter landscape.

Xi'an Botanical Garden
Opened in 1959, Xi'an Botanical Garden is the earliest botanical garden established in Northwest China. Covering an area of 647 mu (43.13 hectares), it collects and preserves more than 4,000 plant species. It is the botanical garden with the widest variety of introduced and maintained plants in Northwest China.
It is a resort to enjoy different wintersweet species and a paradise for photographers.

Small Wild Goose Pagoda
Small Wild Goose Pagoda is an important landmark building that has been preserved in the city since the Tang Dynasty, together with the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. At the time, Xi'an was known as Chang'an.
There are two wintersweet plants in the scenic spot, adding a colorful element to the cold winter landscape.

Xi'an Huancheng Park
Xi'an Huancheng Park is a three-dimensional park that includes the famous city wall, built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), along with the city moat and a forest belt. It is a unique park landscape in Shaanxi.
With the ancient city wall as the background, the beauty of wintersweet blossoms is strikingly apparent. The flowers also add an element of elegance to the city wall.

Dufu Memorial Temple
Dufu Memorial Temple was built in the Ming Dynasty to commemorate the prestigious Chinese poet Du Fu.
Two wintersweet shrubs in Dufu Memorial Temple, about 10 meters high and about 200 years old, are among the oldest wintersweet plants in Xi'an.
