Xi'an Livat Shopping Center recently won the silver medal of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Global Design and Development Awards and received special recognition for its achievements in sustainable development.
As the world's largest professional retail real estate organization, ICSC was founded in 1957 and has over 70,000 members across more than 100 countries. The ICSC Global Design and Development Awards recognize outstanding commercial retail design and development projects worldwide, highlight leading design and emerging trends, and are among the most authoritative awards in the industry.
The Xi'an Livat complex encompasses more than 20,000 square meters of green space, featuring four rainwater storage tanks that enable rainwater recycling. Inside the shopping center, more than 100 native plant species create a biodiverse environment that helps visitors feel fully immersed in nature.
In addition, through the "ground source heat pump + air-cooled heat pump" system, the shopping center partners with green power providers to achieve 100 percent renewable energy use. Nearly 2,600 rooftop photovoltaic panels generate more than 1.45 million kilowatt-hours of power annually — equivalent to 100,000 sq m of afforestation every year and about 1,000 metric tons of carbon emission reduction.
