In 2024, Xi'an's transportation and logistics sector witnessed remarkable growth, with passenger and freight volumes surging, boosting economic vitality and connectivity.

The city's express delivery industry saw a rapid expansion, with 1.52 billion parcels handled, marking a 49.5 percent year-on-year increase. To support this growth, 1,061 new terminal delivery service points were established, including 140 in rural areas, bringing the total number of registered delivery points to 10,577.
Xi'an's national logistics hubs also experienced significant development. China-Europe freight train operations grew by 25.1 percent, attracting over 2,500 e-commerce and supporting enterprises to the land-port logistics hub. The production service logistics hub continued to innovate with its "production hub + remote warehouse" model, leading to a 14.15 percent increase in cargo throughput. The trade and service logistics hub now houses 946 logistics enterprises, extending services to 136 cities across 21 provinces in China.

Civil aviation cargo also saw a 9.3 percent increase, reaching throughput of 290,500 metric tons. Xi'an Xianyang International Airport now operates 53 international passenger and 12 dedicated cargo routes, enhancing global connectivity.
Passenger transport in Xi'an reached 176.84 million trips, a 16.4 percent increase. Expanding the "Greater Xi'an" high-speed rail network has strengthened economic and tourism links with surrounding cities, making the region more accessible and attractive to visitors worldwide.
