Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning took to multiple international social media platforms to highlight the newly opened Terminal 5 at the Xi'an Xianyang International Airport on Feb 27.

"Who'd guess an airport terminal could double as a Tang Dynasty palace?" Mao wrote, describing how the new terminal blends ancient history with modern travel. She also extended an invitation to global travelers: "Pack your bags for a royal adventure to the starting point of the ancient Silk Road!"

Since its official opening on Feb 20, Terminal 5 has been a hot topic across both Chinese and international social media.

Among the most talked-about attractions is the terminal's China West Airport Group Museum of Heritage, covering approximately 6,400 square meters.

Featuring a grand indoor architectural complex styled after ancient China, the museum has captivated visitors with its extensive collection of artifacts. The exhibits primarily consist of relics unearthed during archaeological excavations at the airport site since the 1950s, displayed in their original location.

China's diplomatic team has repeatedly praised Xi'an on global social media. With its rich history, breathtaking landscapes, and vivid culture, the ancient city remains a symbol of China on the world stage.
