Bailuyuan Studios in Xi'an launched its spectacular magic lantern show, featuring large-scale displays inspired by characters from the novel White Deer Plain, on Jan 16.

Making their grand debut, these unique lanterns are a new cultural highlight of the 2025 Chang'an Lantern Festival.

The lantern show blends the cultural essence of the novel with natural landscapes, local Guanzhong customs, and innovative design concepts. It aims to create a new cultural tourism experience, offering visitors an unforgettable visual feast steeped in tradition.

"The lantern show here is truly unique," said Zhao, who attended the lighting ceremony. "Unlike traditional displays dominated by mascots or floral patterns, this show uses literary elements, with lifelike characters that seem to transcend time. It's absolutely mesmerizing."

In addition to the lantern show, Bailuyuan Studios has launched the ninth Guanzhong Folk Culture Festival. Activities include a grand intangible culture heritage parade, traditional markets, folk fire shows, and more.

Combined with signature performances, cutting-edge technology, local delicacies, and winter sports, visitors are treated to an authentic and vibrant festive experience, celebrating Guanzhong's rich and dynamic culture.
