In recent years, Xi'an has utilized its "4 Hubs + 1 Base" logistics framework to enhance its openness and urban development.
The seamless operation of the China-Europe freight trains (Xi'an) and cargo air routes has created efficient trade channels for imported goods and local manufacturing industries.
Imported goods are becoming an integral part of daily life in Xi'an. At the Chunxin Global Quality Products Shopping Experience Center in the Xi'an International Port Zone, specialty goods from over 60 countries attract numerous shoppers, arriving swiftly and affordably via the China-Europe freight trains and international air routes and making global shopping more accessible.
Xi'an's industries are thriving. Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, Shaanxi province's only first-class air cargo port, operates 28 international cargo routes, supporting major companies like Samsung and BYD. This connectivity fosters the growth of airport-adjacent industrial clusters in sectors such as electronics and biopharmaceuticals. From January to October this year, the airport handled a cumulative cargo throughput of 12.1 million metric tons.
Xi'an's efficient trade logistics also drive high-quality development. By building an integrated logistics system and strengthening air-rail and sea-rail intermodal capabilities, the city supports the export of engineering machinery and new energy vehicles while facilitating the import of high-value goods like fruits and fresh produce.
As its logistics hub evolves, Xi'an is rapidly positioning itself as a global logistics hub, driving the high-quality growth of its manufacturing and trade sectors.
