In recent years, Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, has accelerated the development of advanced manufacturing industries, with the robot sector rapidly expanding.

In 2020, Xi'an outlined plans to develop and strengthen the "6+5+6+1" modern industrial system. The "5" refers to the city's focus on five key emerging industries: artificial intelligence, robots, 5G, big data and cloud computing, and additive manufacturing.

Research indicates that Xi'an currently hosts over 60 robotics-related enterprises, primarily focused on research, production, and application.

According to the Xi'an municipal bureau of industry and information technology, the city's industrial robot sector is experiencing rapid growth. More enterprises are introducing industrial robots to improve efficiency and reduce costs, especially in the automotive, electronics, and medical device manufacturing industries.

In Shaanxi, capital is directed towards high-tech areas in the robot industry, encouraging collaboration between universities, research institutions, and enterprises to drive technology transfers. Against this backdrop, Shaanxi's robot industry is rapidly enhancing core technologies and independent innovation capabilities.

A breakthrough study from Xi'an Jiaotong University's School of Mechanical Engineering recently gained industry attention: a tiny insect-scale jumping robot. The school's advanced equipment intelligent maintenance team has developed nearly 10 new bio-inspired robots, which are expected to replace humans in confined and hazardous environments.

Companies like AVIC Creative Robotics (Xi'an) Co are also developing more robotic products for rehabilitation, home, and other applications through national research projects and industry-academia collaborations.
