The 2024 China and Five Central Asia Countries Wrestling Elite Finals concluded in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Nov 13.
Starting Nov 11, athletes from China, five Central Asian countries, South Korea, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, and other countries joined hands to offer up a wrestling extravaganza, giving the audience an up-close experience of the unrivaled strength on display.
The vibrant atmosphere in the arena, coupled with a spectacular lineup of events, left a profound impression on the participating athletes, further highlighting the role of sports events in cultural exchange and fostering friendships.

Peng Fei clinched the championship in the 87kg category by defeating his teammate Wang Qimin. After the match, this stalwart from Xi'an ascended the podium with his 2-year-old daughter, where he was congratulated by the audience.

"It has been five years since I last visited Xi'an, and the city's development has exceeded my expectations," Peljee remarked. "This time, I had the chance to taste Shaanxi's noodles. The generous portions sizes are a reflection of the warmth and hospitality of the people here, who are open and inclusive."
