Facing the complex and severe employment situation, Xi'an has recently launched a series of policies and measures to promote employment and entrepreneurship among university and college students, and overcome the adverse effects of the COVID-19 epidemic.

These measures include optimizing the employment and entrepreneurial environment, expanding employment channels, improving support measures, and strengthening organizational security.

The city will set up a green channel for college students to find jobs and start businesses in Xi'an. University and college students can handle the formalities for settlement with their student IDs and their ID cards.

College students that have been identified by the Xi'an human resources and social security bureau can enjoy rent subsidies or apply for shared property rights within three years.

The city will organize various activities, such as job fairs for overseas Chinese and high-level talents, to attract more college student to settle in.

It will also encourage departments, enterprises and institutions to jointly provide no less than 300,000 jobs each year.

A total of no less than 2,000 public welfare positions will be provided every year to college students from poverty-stricken families.

Small and medium-sized enterprises recruiting university graduates for employment in their graduation year, signing labor contracts of more than one year and paying social insurance, will be given a one-time employment subsidy of 1,000 yuan ($140.74) per person.

In addition, Xi'an will encourage outstanding overseas high-level talents or teams with strong innovation ability, excellent entrepreneurial projects, and large development potential to settle in the city.
