Applicants of the Mofcom Scholarship should be citizens of a country other than the People's Republic of China, and be in good health. Applicants should be bachelor's degree holders when applying for master's programs; be master's degree holders under the age of 45 when applying for doctoral programs; all applicants should have sufficient English or Chinese proficiency that meets the academic requirements of the programs. Requirements for English-taught programs: minimum TOFEL 80, IELTS 6; Requirements for Chinese-taught programs: HSK level VI. Scholarships include tuition waiver; free teaching materials; free of research and inspection fees; free graduation thesis guide; free on-campus accommodation; one-time placement fee: master students and doctoral students each receive 3,000 yuan at a time; living expenses: CNY 3,000 per month for master students, and CNY 3,500 per month for doctoral students; comprehensive medical insurance; one-time round-trip tickets for students' first trip to China and trip to return home after graduation; and n-1 (n is the number of school years) round-trip tickets for students to return home to visit the relatives.
