A high-powered symposium discussing cooperation in aeronautics and astronautics was held on Nov 9 in Xi'an – capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province – which also took place online.
The event was called the Aeronautics and Astronautics Symposium of the 2022 Silk Road International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application.
It was hosted by the National Center for Schooling Development Programme, and organized by Northwestern Polytechnical University (NWPU).

More than 200 people participated in the symposium. They included academicians, scholars, company representatives and international cooperation mentors and students in the aerospace field – from Ireland, Australia, Pakistan, Russia, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom and China.
At the symposium, Song Baowei, vice-president of NWPU, said the university has strengthened its innovation and exploration in personnel training, scientific research and achievement transformation.
Song added that it has also achieved progress in the high-quality development of international industry-education-research cooperation.

Liu Baoping, a member of the education working committee of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, said the aerospace industry is a unique and high-quality resource for the development of Shaanxi. It is an important support for Xi'an to become a city featuring key and core technology.
He added that the Shaanxi Education Department will work with universities, scientific research institutes and enterprises in the province to build a number of major innovation platforms and first-class innovation teams.

In addition, letters of appointment were issued to graduate tutors who have had a long commitment to the cultivation of talent for the integration of industry, education, research and applications.
Some sub-forums were also held, discussing commercial aerospace, flight controls technology, aerospace engine technology and other fields.
