XJTU holds 2021 opening ceremony for undergraduate freshmen

The 2021 opening ceremony for undergraduate freshmen at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was held at the university's Xingqing campus in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Oct 17.

University leaders, teacher representatives, and all 5,676 undergraduate freshmen attended the ceremony to welcome the new semester.

Lu Jianjun, Party secretary of XJTU, said at the opening ceremony that a person's four years of undergraduate education is an important stage of their life. Students' world outlook, values, sense of responsibility, mindset, and skillset will all be taken shape during this period.

Wang Shuguo, president of XJTU, expressed hope that all freshmen will cultivate a strong sense of morality and many skills during their time at the university.

Representatives of teachers, senior undergraduates, and new students of the 2021 school year also delivered speeches at the ceremony.
