Xi'an Polytechnic University, or XPU, is a comprehensive academic institution with a long history, strong foundation and distinctive school traditions and characteristics. It is the only university in western China that features textiles and clothing.

The university has two campuses at Jinhua and Lintong, covering an area of 1.08 million square meters. It has 131 laboratories, 12 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, three provincial virtual simulation experimental teaching centers, seven provincial and ministerial-level key laboratories and one provincial collaborative innovation center.

It also possesses eight national and provincial engineering technology research centers and has seven national and provincial ministerial-level industrial technology innovation strategic alliances.

The university currently has more than 20,000 full-time students, including more than 2,300 graduate students and more than 17,000 undergraduate students.

In recent years, it has undertaken more than 100 provincial and ministerial-level education teaching research projects, winning more than 130 teaching achievement awards.

XPU has established cooperative relations with more than 60 universities and research institutions in more than 20 countries and regions such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and Japan.

More than 500 students have studied abroad through joint degree programs between XPU and partner universities.
