Over the past two years, Xi'an has reportedly continued to optimize and adjust the layout of schools and accelerated school construction program.

Under the three-year action plan, 430 schools are scheduled to be built, renovated or expanded, adding 389,500 study positions.

In the two years, the city built, renovated and expanded 338 schools, adding 324,400 study positions, completing 78.6 percent of the three-year school construction target and 83.3 percent of the study positions target.

What's more, the report found the city recruited 15,852 teachers in two years, completing 79.3 percent of the target, including 7,833 in 2020 and 8,019 to date in 2021, fully guaranteeing the teaching needs of schools.

Moving forwards, plans are for Xi'an to continue to make efforts in expanding the number of study positions, teacher team building and teaching quality improvements, so as to allow more students to enjoy a full and satisfactory education.
