Ye Niuping

Mayor of Xi'an Municipal People's Government

Ye Niuping, who was born in December 1967, is ethnically Han. He has a postgraduate educational background, holding a master's degree in history and is an economist and a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

He previously served as a mayor of county-level cities, head of sub-provincial-level district governments, head of various municipal government departments, a member of the leading Party members group of the municipal government, secretary-general, deputy mayor and mayor of prefecture-level cities, secretary of the CPC municipal committee, and a member of the leading Party members group and secretary-general of the provincial government.

In April 2023, he began serving as deputy secretary of the CPC Xi'an Municipal Committee and secretary of the leading Party members group and acting mayor of the Xi'an Municipal People's Government. 

In June 2023, he was elected as mayor of Xi'an Municipal People's Government at the fourth session of the 17th Xi'an Municipal People's Congress.

Main duties: Leading the overall work of the Xi'an Municipal People's Government.
