"No lectern, no teleprompter — only evening breeze and an audience eager for stories." Such is the most lasting impression the event has left on local residents and tourists. Drawing on a casual conversational style, it invites a host of provincial cultural‑heritage institutions, university experts, and intangible cultural heritage inheritors for cultural sharing and helps overseas visitors gain insight into Chinese history.

The event is an innovative practice by Xi'an City Wall to vitalize its nighttime economy and advance the upgrading of cultural‑tourism consumption. Held every Tuesday to Friday since July 21, with more than 20 themed talks staged, it makes clever use of the time slot after performances conclude, transforming performance watching into immersive cultural interaction and filling the content gap in the city's nighttime cultural-tourism offerings.

Visitors are now spending at least 40 minutes longer on average in the core area at Yongning Gate due to the event. This has successfully boosted secondary spending at nearby cultural and creative stalls, as well as at intangible cultural heritage craft fairs.

The Xi'an City Wall will continue to explore methods for adaptive reuse of large heritage sites, offer high‑quality public cultural content, and invigorate the cultural heritage of the ancient capital, empowering the inheritance of Chinese civilization and the high‑quality development of Xi'an's cultural‑tourism industry.
