Located at the foot of Wangshun Mountain, the Shuilu Temple is renowned for the sacred Buddhist site's continuous colored wall sculptures, the earliest known example of this in the world. The architecture exudes classical elegance, while the wall sculptures inside are a marvel of craftsmanship.
Preserving over 3,700 Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) sculptures, these treasures vividly portray the social landscape of that era. They depict a wide range of subjects, from Buddhist classics to mythological legends, societal life, and natural scenery.
