The Qin Han Museum of the Shaanxi History Museum, received a total of 30,600 visits during the three-day New Year holiday, making it one of the most popular museums in Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

The new museum started trial operation on Dec 29, 2023.

It is currently the only museum in China that focuses on displaying the origin, development and contribution of the Qin (221-206 BC) and Han (206 BC-AD 220) civilizations.

It is a modern museum with a strong traditional style that integrates cultural relic protection, exhibitions, academic research, popular science education, tourism services and other functions.

The museum is free and open to the public. It now plans to exhibit themed displays, as well as organize special educational activities from time to time.

The museum will be officially open to the public on May 18, 2024. Additionally, the museum will be China's main venue of 2024 International Museum Day event.
