The 2026 Silk Road Outstanding Films Exchange and Promotion Event attracted more than 300 participants on Sept 20, including representatives from international organizations and consular offices in Shaanxi province, as well as professionals in film production, cinema operation, distribution and copyright sectors from across China.
The event aimed to normalize film trade and cultural exchanges among countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

One of the highlights was the unveiling of the Silk Road Film International Exchange and Trade Center, as well as the launch of the Silk Road Film Copyright Trading Platform.
Focusing on copyright trading and international exchanges, the exchange and trade center builds a regular industrial docking hub for countries involved in the BRI to facilitate the copyright circulation of Chinese and overseas films, co-production, and talent and cultural exchanges.
The copyright trading platform builds an integrated online service channel covering copyright release, matching, and transaction. It improves the digital infrastructure for the cross-border trade of Silk Road film and television copyrights, fosters standardized and copyright transactions of Chinese and international audio-visual content, and boosts international communication and exchanges.

The center signed strategic cooperation agreements with the CMG TV and Film Dubbing Center, Xi'an International Studies University, and Brazil-Asia Film Association.
It will build a translation and dubbing service network covering major Silk Road languages, including Arabic, Persian, Russian, and Malay with the CMG TV and Film Dubbing Center, and establish a talent training base with Xi'an International Studies University to cultivate professional talents for the industry.
