The fifth Shaanxi Qinqiang Opera Exhibition and Performance, which will be held during the approaching Chinese New Year, was officially announced on Dec 12.

The exhibition and performance will run from Jan 30 (the second day of the Lunar New Year) to Feb 12, 2025. Over 20 performances will be held in Xi'an and Baoji, showcasing the best of Shaanxi's Qinqiang Opera.
The event, hosted by Xi'an Performing Arts Group Theatre Operation Management Co in collaboration with the renowned Yisu Theater and Xi'an Performing Arts Youth Troupe, will take place at three venues: Yisu Grand Theatre, Xi'an Broadcasting Theatre, and Baoji Grand Theatre.
From Jan 30 to Feb 12, Yisu Grand Theatre will present 14 classic Qinqiang operas daily. Highlights include iconic plays such as Three Drops of Blood and the Legend of the White Snake.
Xi'an Performing Arts Youth Troupe will take over from Feb 4, bringing fresh energy to the stage. Xi'an Broadcasting Theatre will host excerpts led by Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award winners, and Baoji Grand Theatre will feature evening shows from Jan 31 to Feb 3.
Organizers aim to deliver an immersive cultural feast with renowned artists, accessible pricing, and captivating performances, offering locals and tourists a taste of Shaanxi's rich cultural heritage.
