BYD's new energy vehicle power battery project (Xixian base) in Xi'an's Qinhan New City began operations on Sept 28, marking a new stage for the city's intelligent vehicle industry.

The new energy vehicle industry serves as the engine of Qinhan New City's industrial economy. In recent years, Qinhan New City's advanced manufacturing zone has accelerated the clustering of upstream and downstream enterprises in the intelligent vehicle industrial chain, attracting more than 40 supporting enterprises.

The Xixian base mainly builds production lines for new energy vehicle power battery cells and packs, together with supporting production and living facilities. It serves as a production base for BYD's second-generation blade battery and a core hub for mass production of flash-charging technology.

Covering the full process from electrode preparation and cell formation to module assembly, battery pack integration, and system testing, the base uses an MES intelligent manufacturing system to enable intelligent, efficient production.

The base's commissioning provides localized battery support for BYD's vehicle manufacturing in Xi'an, further strengthening the regional new energy vehicle industrial chain.
