Xi'an has become a major hub for the photonics industry in Shaanxi province thanks to the establishment of burgeoning clusters in photon manufacturing, photon information, and photon sensing.

Currently, the scale of Xi'an's photonics industrial chain stands at around 20 billion yuan ($2.76 billion). In 2023, the city's photonics industry achieved a total operating income of 12.73 billion yuan, and it is projected to exceed 28 billion yuan this year.
Xi'an is committed to intensifying efforts in cultivating high-quality photonics projects, attracting upstream and downstream companies in the industrial chain, and driving the continuous gathering of photonics enterprises in the city.
